  1. EG Jansen at 13 below HTS Middelburg, Monument and Garsfontein. They have come out tops above all 03 these schools in the Tuks reeks.. they have lost against nr 1 , 2 and 3 but won all their other games. I think a 4 – 7 position will be fair for them..This is proof that the formula can not be 100 percent accurate especially if a team is rated lower from the start of the season

Also impossible for Dale to be above Queens……what a Playa

I think this list was compiled with too much Red Heart or under the influence of too much Ishikawa Ozaki from Japan

So ook Windhoek. Maar iemand moet tog die skole speel.
    Oplossing:

  6. It looks fair plus the points difference between the teams are minimal, it affords for accurate change in the long run as the teams play against each other… I also think if you pickup bonus points for beating lower ranked teams by a certain amount of points what’s to stop certain teams from avoiding big games

    ReplyReply

  8. All I am saying the category system does not make it accurate and penalize others. Example if a category 5 school lost 3 games and a category 4 school lost 3 games, who will be higher on the list? The category 5 school off course. Also the fact that HTS Middelburg was beaten twice by EG Jansen this season, but still rated higher than EG Jansen tells me something is not 100% correct.

    ReplyReply
  9. @Jakes You’re on the same amount of points, Does it matter whether you’re 12th or 13th? I think EG being 4th to 7th is invalid, You don’t know whether EG would Knockoff any of the teams that lie 4th to 7th and also you don’t know whether EG would beat Monnas or Garsfontein… You’re making assumptions because, EG beat HTS twice and HTS beat Monnas and Garsfontein each by one point. Plus HTS have probably beaten more teams in the top 30 other than GCB can’t they argue that they should be higher???

    ReplyReply
  10. Teebow only you can think that way. Garsfontein and Monnas played in the same competition as EG Jansen.I do not really care about the ranking system. It is a good barometer, but definitely not accurate. It is just common sense that after the tuks series EG Jansen should be rated higher than Garsfontein, Monnas and HTSM.

Vreemd!

  12. @jakes: How do you work that one out?..If you loose you loose…you gain or loose points points based on your OPPONENTS category ranking..not your own! ..EG have played 3 category 5 ranked teams and could have gained 5 points for a win in each of them, but they lost by between 15 to 20 in each game and so did not earn any points. Those teams only gained 4.5 points based on EG category…Teebow is actually correct with his analysis.

  13. That theory only works if you take only the TUKS series games into consideration..unfortunatly, other games was played as well! ..you cant pick which games the rankings are based on.

  14. @tzavosky: So sal Affies ook nog inkom wanneer hulle weer so paar games wen.

  15. BoishaaiPa- okay thanks for explaining that. Let us see how the rest of the season goes. It is still early. I strongly believe EGJ will and must end up much higher than 13th place as per current form depending on how the rest of the season goes

    ReplyReply
  16. @Jake @BoishaaiPa EG have a lot of opportunity to move up. There are a lot of matches still to come. don’t know why Jake is even bothered. Personally I think the teams are evenly matched… Saying that EG would just breeze past Monnas and Garsfontein because they won Tuks reeks, I don’t know about that… I hope we get to see EG vs Garsforntein or EG vs Monnas in the Beeld tournament

  17. Teebow you are right. The saeson only about halfway now maybe – get to excited to early. A lot can still happen especially in the Beeld trophy. On another note, the Affies supporters are quiet today

  19. Woltrui- grap net.

  20. Glenwood at no. 3 is ridiculous and we all know it, already lost way too many games to sides ranked much lower that them on the list. Honestly, about 15th is more realistic based on their results to date.

  22. @Jordaan: I am losing my memory. Can you remind me of those “far too many games” lost to opposition lower than them. I remember 3/3 locally ad an unbeaten KERF.

  24. Glenwood are certainly Top 10 but not Top 5, they have played 10 and lost 2. My top 5 would be Grey Bloem, Paul Roos, Waterkloof, Paarl Gim & Paarl Boys…followed by Grey PE, Garsies, EG Jansen, Glenwood, Westville & Grey PE….it’s quite early to have a clear cut top 10.

Glo my, daai 31-24 vlei Ben Vorster.

  30. @tzavosky: Ek twyfel of Know enigsens kan lees.

  31. @Grasshopper I don’t agree with you on that. I think these ranking are more accurate… The points margins/spread reflect on how close the teams are. That ranking seems to be base more on who lost against who, which team beat another team… and because of that they should be higher. How was that list compiled?

    ReplyReply
  32. @Teebow: not sure, just seems at the moment to reflect actual strengths of the sides better….sometimes stats don’t tell the full picture either and remember I’m a stats man…

    ReplyReply
  33. @Grasshopper: IMO KC top 20 at least. Have not lost locally and been turned over by Grey P.E., HTS Middelberg and E.G.Jansen which are high quality sides. Beaten Westville and PBHS in the process of having a 9/3 win/loss ratio.

    ReplyReply
  34. @Grasshopper I don’t know if you can at this stage determine how strong a team is as yet… Only GCB, PRG and Kloof. I think after a couple of weeks of the Regional derby’s we will actually see how strong the teams are, Personally I’m looking forward to that Monnas vs Glenwood match on the 31st
